ISO upgrade on stream at Amwire

To bring Amwire to the forefront of customer satisfaction, the Quality Management Team is championing the upgrade of the Company's Quality Management System from 1994 version to the 2000 version.

The implementation of the new version is an undertaking beyond the certification process. This represents the adoption of process-oriented management and commits us to the 8 Quality Management Principles of ISO. The result - "continuous improvement with greater focus on customer needs."

Model Employees for the Year 2001

Alfredo C. Plaza (Supervisory)

Al has been with Amwire since 1987, a fresh graduate then from the Mapua Institute of Technology, of B.S Electrical Engineering. Born on November 20, a scorpion, his sting is evident in carrying his task as the supervisor in the PEMD. Well respected by most employees, he has attended various conferences, conventions, and seminars aimed to improve his craft and to be of help to the company. He is hard working, dedicated, caring and a wonderful person who from time and again, sets a good example by his actions. He is known for his enthusiasm, as well as his outgoing, positive and friendly attitude.

It is obvious that he takes pride in his work by his quick response and detailed correction of any problem. No job is too big for him and he completes the small jobs with tenacity and with attention to details. Presently, he is the Quality Management Representative of the company, of which his enthusiasm has influenced others to be aware and be involved in the Quality Management System. He is energetic, dependable and a fine example for a model employee.

Rosalinda Galvez-Cruz (Monthly-Rated)

Popularly known as Manang Rose, is from Production Planning and Control. She has been with Amwire since 1989, and has time and again effectively utilized her intelligence and strong work ethics to the Manufacturing Division benefit. She consistently takes the lead in completing tasks with minimal supervision, and can always be relied upon to do her best. As a result of this dependability, her department has a complete confidence in her abilities, which has earned her a reputation as a “go-to” type of person. She has also been active throughout the company, serving as the Internal Quality Audit Head aimed at improving our quality system. She appears to have a quiet demeanor; her co-workers have come to appreciate her kindness and generosity. She draws strength from her deep faith in God, and gets her support from her prayer community to which she is actively involved with. She has a sense of humor, which brightens the day and makes it fun to come to work. Her peers, section heads alike describe her as reliable, dedicated and determined.

Edgardo Naniong (Daily-Rated)

Egay has been with Amwire for 30 years. Like the rest of our awardees, he is quiet, humble, dependable and caring. He is organized and skilled in his job. He handles his work very well. He has demonstrated many times a real commitment to his department’s goals and objectives. He continually goes above and beyond the call of duty.

According to his supervisors, the best way to describe Egay is “hardworking and dedicated”. He is a sensible, hardworking person who shows up everyday with a work ethic that is becoming rarer with every passing year. His department has a very high regard for him and he has shown that, in an operation there’s no insignificant job, all are important as the rest.
