Building Wires

TW Wire (Thermoplastic Moisture-Resistant Wire) Used as interior housewiring at circuit voltage up to 600 volts. Maximum operating temperature is 60°C in dry or wet application.

*THW Wire (Thermoplastic Heat-and Moisture-Resistant Wire)* Used as interior housewiring at circuit voltage up to 600 volts. Maximum operating temperature is 75°C in dry or wet application.

*THHN/THWN (Thermoplastic Heat-Resistant Wire with Nylon Jacket)* A general purpose 600 volt building wire that can be used as a power, lighting and control wiring. Maximum operating temperature is 90°C for dry application and 75°C for wet application.

*Durex Wire (Type NM) Non-Metallic Sheathed Cable* Designed specifically for use as an internal 600 volts building wire installed above ground and in any location at maximum operating temperature of 60°C. Use of conduit is optional as per section 5.5.4 of the Philippine Electrical Code.

*TF Wire (Thermoplastic Fixture)* Used as lighting fixture or interior appliance wire in circuits not exceeding 600 volts at a maximum operating temperature of 60°C in dry or wet location.

*TFN (Thermoplastic Fixture) Wire with Nylon Jacket* Used as lighting fixture, interior appliance wire, machine tool wire or hook up wire in circuits not exceeding 600 volts at a maximum operating temperature of 90°C in dry application and 75°C in wet location.

Aluminum Wires

Bare All Aluminum Conductor (AAC) Used for overhead transmission and distribution of electric power.

Bare Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) Used for power transmission or distribution line. For multiflexed cable, it is used as uninsulated neutral support or messenger wire.

PE Covered All Aluminum Conductor (AAC) Used as secondary service drop wires, 600 volts phase to phase from a utility's distribution line of user's attachment point. Also, it may be applied as a transmission or distribution line and is installed aerially.

PE Covered Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) Used as power transmission or distribution line. For multiflexed cable, it is used as uninsulated neutral support or messenger wire.

Communication Cables

Standard Aerial Telephone Cable (SATC) Used for telecommunication system and is either applied aerially or in duct. Manufacturing requirement of this type of cable is according to REA PE-22 specifications.

*Direct Burial Telephone Cable (DBTC)* Used for telecommunication system and is intended for underground and direct burial application. Manufacturing requirements of this type of cable is according to REA PE-23 specifications.

*Jelly-Filled Telephone Cable (JFTC)* Used for telecommunication system and is intended for underground and direct burial application. Manufacturing requirements of this type of cable is according to REA PE-39 specifications.

*Foam Skin-Filled Telephone Cable (FSF)* Used for telecommunication system and is intended for direct burial, underground, and aerial application. Manufacturing requirement of this type of cable is according to REA PE-89 specifications.

*Intercom Cable* Used as an internal wiring in an intercom network system at maximum conductor temperature of 60°C.

*Telephone Dropwire* Used to transmit signal from a utility's source to the user's attachment point at maximum operating temperature of 75°C.

Jacketed Interior Wire Used as a distribution line between a protector and a telephone connector of a subscriber's line at a maximum operating temperature of 60°C.

Power Cables

*Durapower Cable 600V* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 600 volts where installation is done in conduits, trays, troughs, underground ducts and aerial. Maximum operating is at 75°C.

*Durapower Cable 600V (XLPE)* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 600 volts where installation is done in conduits, trays, troughs, underground ducts and aerial. Maximum operating is at 90°C.

*Durapower Cable 601-2000V (XLPE)* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 601-2000 volts where installation is done in conduits, tray, troughs, underground ducts and aerial. Maximum operating is at 90°C.

*Durapower Cable 2001-5000V (XLPE)* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 2001-5000V where installation is done in conduits, trays, troughs, underground ducts and aerial. Insulation levels are at 100% and 133%, grounded and ungrounded. Maximum operating temperature is at 90°C.

*Durapower Cable 5001-8000V (XLPE)* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 5001-8000V where installation is done in conduits, trays, trough, underground ducts and aerial. Insulation levels are at 100% and 133%, grounded or ungrounded. Maximum operating temperature is at 90°C.

*Durapower Cable 8001-15000V (XLPE)* Application of this type of cable is for circuits rated 8001-15000V where installation is done in conduits,trays, trough, underground ducts and aerial. Insulation levels are at 100% and 133%, grounded and ungrounded. Maximum operating temperature is at 90°C.

Special/Other Cables:

*Magnet Wire (PVF Class 105°C Round Copper)* Used as windings of electrical equipments such as motors, generators, transformers, refrigerator compressors, communication equipment and instruments at a maximum temperature not exceeding 105°C.

*Duracord (Flexible Cord)* Used as portable cable, emergency wire or inside building wiring in circuits not exceeding 600 volts and at maximum temperature rating of 60°C. Normally used in areas where high flexibility is required.

*Duplex Cord (Thermoplastic Parallel Cord/SPT)* Used for appliance wiring for circuits not exceeding 300 volts at maximum operation temperature of 60°C.

*Submersible Pump Cable* Used to connect electrical circuits of underground pump cable at 600 volts maximum circuit rating and 75°C maximum conductor thermal rating.

*PVC Type Automotive Wire* Used to connect electrical circuits in any automobile or vehicle. Maximum voltage rating is 50 volts at maximum conductor temperature of 105°C.

*Battery Cable* Used as high temperature wire for electrical connections of supply (battery) and load in circuits not exceeding 50 volts at maximum operating temperature of 105°C.

*Arc Welding Cable* Used for connections from electrode holder and clamp to arc welder, bus, welding bus or transformer in shipyards, mines and all hazardous locations. Applicable to circuits not exceeding 600 volts at 105°C maximum conductor temperature.

*Bare Copper* Suitable for use as overhead transmission and distribution line. Stranded conductor offers higher flexibility and may also be applied as uninstalled hook up, jumper and ground wires in an electrical construction.

*Neutral Supported Secondary and Service Dropwire* Used as power distribution line 600 volts phase to phase from utility's source to the user's attachment point (service entrance).

*Control Cable* Used for control wiring such as for monitoring, data reading, conveyance of information as in telemetering, communication, temperature, pressure and flow and may either be installed aerially, in ducts, conduits, trays, or directly buried. Also recommended for application requiring reliability of stable electrical characteristics under severe service. Maximum circuit voltage is 600 volts at maximum operating temperature of 75°C.
